SLR International Corporation has an immediate opportunity for a Project or Associate level Engineer or Scientist to join our growing operations in Anchorage, Alaska. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field. This position will offer support to new and existing air quality and compliance projects in the Alaska market, as well as project work in the Lower 48 as needed. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.

Required Technical Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field
  • Master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science is preferred
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of previous, worked related experience
  • Experience solving environmental problems, calculating air quality emissions, and interpreting environmental regulations
  • Excellent technical writing skills, and experience writing comprehensive technical reports
  • Effective time management of multiple project tasks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel by airplane and car, including occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to visit industrial and manufacturing facilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately develop and complete tasks for air quality permitting, compliance reporting, and field data collection under the supervision of a Principal or Senior Project Manager
  • Interact with project team members to steward permit applications and reports to review and delivery
  • Learn and implement compliance reporting software tools
  • Provide technical understanding related to projects (i.e., regulatory framework/requirements, sound engineering approach, investigation methods, etc.)
  • Assist clients with compliance programs
  • Solicit work from SLR project managers
  • Conduct short-duration travel to attend client and project meetings
