Project Geologist/Engineer
SLR International Corporation is seeking a Project Geologist or Engineer to join our busy Seattle or Bothell, Washington operations. Preferred candidates will have a strong, relevant academic and employment background, and a passion for environmental work. This role offers the opportunity to work on a number of soil and groundwater remediation, and due diligence projects and will provide hands-on experience interacting with clients. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or equivalent 
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Possess valid driver's license
  • Willing to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD & GIS
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Technical Skills and Experience
  • Experience with soil and groundwater remediation
  • Understanding of field tasks including: soil sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, soil-vapor sampling, soil and groundwater remediation, site reconnaissance, and subcontractor oversight
  • Demonstrated competence with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of remediation systems preferred
  • Experience in technical writing and development of technical documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, conceptual site models, and technical reports
  • Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from Project Managers
  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
  • Utilize geologic data to design monitoring and remediation wells
  • Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects, operations, and maintenance of environmental remediation systems
  • Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services
  • Conduct field work to include: soil, sediment, and aquifer testing, drilling oversight, soil logging, soil boring, monitoring well installation, well development, construction oversight, and sampling of surface water and groundwater
  • Perform Phase I and II environmental assessments to support property transactions
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
  • Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities
